Memorandum Page from the Diary of Angus Innis MacDougall (copied as originally written in 1907)
“Honour to Whome Honour is Due July 27th was a red letter day in Judique. On that day the Rt. Rev. Archibald Campbell S.J. arrived at the Railway station in the oldest Gaelic Speaking parrish in Cape Breton and was Received by the The Good People of the Parrish with a Cead Mile Failte. They were Headed by four Hiland Pipers who Played in wright good style the appropriate Hiland airs the Campbells are coming and many other Welcome and favourite Airs. It may be truly said that no people could have shown more sincere cordiality of Hospitality than that shown Father Campbell from the moment he landed at Judique until he left the Parrish for Inverness on the 3rd inst. and The send off Given the good Father was fully equal to his Reception the Pipers and Whole Parrish accompanying him to the station. Needless to say the Mission was most successful in Every sense. Both the Pastor and people are Congratulated upon its success as the Missionary declared that He never met with better people and the Compliment paid their Pastor must have been very Gratifying to him. It is Generally believed that the report Which Father Campbell will make of the Parrish of Judique as well as of Every other parrish which he has visited in the diocese will be an Eye opener to our brethren In the land. May our Good people ever Preserve the Faith and traditions of their Fathers” St. Andrews Parrish Judique Names and Age of Hiland Pipers Judique That played the Reception of Rev.
